Organic food coupons and Gluten-free coupons

Tips and Tricks 6 Comments »

It is easy to find coupons for processed foods but organic food coupons and gluten free food coupons are harder to come by. I have found several sites that you might want to look at for discounts and coupons for organic foods and gluten free coupons.

If you know of any others, please leave me a comment.

Delicious Living has a good selection of e-coupons on their site. They also have a Thanksgiving make-over article with healthy twists on familiar favorite recipes. This is an easy to navigate website full of  healthy recipes, lunchbox ideas, green living tips and cooking for weight loss.

Heath-e-savers - will send you a weekly email full of organic coupons for brands like Simply Organic, Annie Chun’s and Annie’s cereal. They also have a Tofurky Roast just in time for Thanksgiving!

Mambo Sprouts has e-coup0ns on their site or you can choose to have coupons mailed to you. Mambo Sprouts also has coupons for gluten-free products.

Organic Valley sign up for free magazine containing coupons and be entered into a contest to win a year of free Organic Valley products.

Stonybrook Farms has coupons for their organic yogurt, Yo Baby products and Oikos greek yogurt, but you need to register at their site first.

Horizon Organic Milk - HERE is a coupon for 55 cents off a 3 pack or larger of Horizon Organic Milk, available in chocolate, strawberry, vanilla, or reduced-fat plain.

At the top of my website under “Today’s HOT Deals“, there is a coupon for Horizon Organic Eggs, $1 off of 2. These coupons are updated frequently so check back often.

HERE is a coupon for a buy one get one free Steaz Organic Ice Tea, redeemable at Target through 12/31/09.

Power Cost Monitors- lower your electric bill

Tips and Tricks 1 Comment »

Product Details

Blue Line Innovations Power Cost Monitor $109.99

Product Details

Power Cost Monitor from Smart Home USA $108.99

Product Details

Black & Decker Power Monitor - $92.00. The Black & Decker Power Cost Monitor has 43 reviews on Amazon.com and has a 4 star rating. The two other other models don’t have much customer feedback.

The Today Show ran a segment on saving energy using Power Cost Monitors. You can watch the Today show segment HERE.

Jean Chatzky, Today’s financial editor and  money-saving author tried the Black & Decker Power Cost Monitor in her own home. She learned that she was  spending $1.33 per hour in her home and after using the monitor, she brought her cost down to 32 cents per hour. That’s the difference between $31.92 a day in electricity vs. $7.68 a day.

She must have a huge house. If your electric bill is $200 a month and you are able to save 20% of your cost each month, (which is what the website says is achievable), the device would pay for itself in less than 3 months. You can see at a glance how much money each appliance, TV, computer, game system, light left on, etc. is costing you.

I recommend splitting the cost with another family or friend and sharing the device. I think it is an excellent visual tool for everyone (including the kids) to see how much “vampire energy” is being wasted each day. Perhaps you can set an energy saving goal as a family and once you have covered the cost of the device, spend some of your energy savings on a fun family activity.

HERE is a link to a prior story I wrote about using Smart Power Strips which will automatically turn off your devices when it senses that they are not in use. A Smart Power Strip costs between $20 and $30, depending on the model you choose.

I search every day to find the best discounts, freebies, sales and money-saving tips for the readers of iChurchNetwork. I also invite you to visit my free blog called More With Less Today, where I have over 250 additional ideas for saving money. Also visit “Today’s HOT Deals“ at the top of my home page. This is where I post all of the Black Friday deals and retail codes that I am finding.

Get rebates on drug store purchases

Tips and Tricks No Comments »

You can get rebates on many drugstore purchases including Huggies diapers through the Caregivers Marketplace. There is no fee to participate and the process is straight-forward and easy. You do not have to be a caregiver to use the site.

Anyone purchasing the eligible products can send in for a rebate. You can purchase the products anywhere- a grocery store, drug store, Target, WalMart, etc.

For first time users, enroll (free) at their site. Simply purchase 5 products or more, or wait until you have accumulated receipts for 5 products or more. You can mix and match among the eligible products.

Log in to  The Caregiver’s Marketplace website and print out a cash back form and submit your receipts. Your check will arrive in 4-6 weeks.

You can get cash back every time you buy these brands: Aspercreme®, Balmex®, Benzodent®, Citrucel®, Comfort ™ Personal Cleaning, Cortizone-10®, Cottonelle Fresh®, Depend®, Ecotrin®, Ensure®, Glucerna®, Gold Bond®, GoodNites®, Huggies®, Icy Hot®, Kaopectate®, Nature Made®, Os-Cal®, Poise®, Polident®, Pull-Ups®, and Super Poligrip®.

Here are just a few examples of the rebate amounts: (see website for sizes and UPC Codes)

Huggies diapers $0.75 , Balmex Diaper Rash Cream – $1.00, Depend products – $0.75, Poise Pads – $0.75, Ensure – $1.00 for a six pack, Ecotrin – $1.00 to $2.00 (different sizes), Cortizone-10 cream, $1.00

I recommend printing out a rebate form and sticking it inside a large envelope. Accumulate your receipts in the envelope too and then mail in your rebate form to The Caregiver’s Marketplace on a regular schedule, for example the first of each month or once every quarter. You must use your original receipt. There is no limit to the number of times that you can request cash back.
